Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Education: MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited school required. Bachelorrsquo;s Degree in arts or arts-related field preferred. AND Experience: Two (2) years of academic library experience as a teaching, subject specialist, or liaison librarian, preferably with background in architecture and related research subjects. Two (2) years of experience with library instruction and assessment. Demonstrated evidence of experience advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Library reference and consultation experience. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required): Teaching and pedagogical skills. Excellent patron service skills. Excellent communication skills, including writing, verbal, and interpersonal. Ability to plan, manage, and oversee multiple projects, meet deadlines, and prioritize work projects in alignment with library and university strategic goals, mission, and vision. Job Summary The Outreach and Engagement Librarian will lead library outreach initiatives to engage with the university and to build relationships with campus partners. The Outreach and Engagement Librarian will collaborate with colleagues and campus partners to develop, promote, and facilitate library programming with the goals of promoting library services and resources and of building community. As liaison to the College of Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE), this librarian will design and maintain accessible information literacy learning materials, and will teach and assess information literacy instruction in liaison areas to support student success. This librarian will develop the libraryrsquo;s collections in the subjects of architecture and the built environment, and will provide research assistance and reference services to support learning and research at the University. Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Coordinates the Gutman Libraryrsquo;s participation in university-led outreach events o the East Falls Campus, including but not limited to New Student Orientations, Rams Resource Fairs, and Unity Week. Builds relationships and collaborates with campus partners, including but not limited to the Study Away Office, International Student Office, the Office of Student Engagement, the Academic Success Center, the Student Counseling Center, Student Health Services, Career Services, and student groups. Develops programming in collaboration with library staff and campus partners to increase awareness of library resources and services. Develops innovative and engaging, evidence-based library programs and workshops for faculty, students, and staff. Promotes library programming and workshops on the East Falls campus. Participates in the libraryrsquo;s liaison program by liaising with the College of Architecture and the Built Environment. Teaches inclusive information literacy instruction synchronously and asynchronously, in-person and online, in assigned liaison areas. Assesses information literacy instruction in assigned liaison areas. Builds relationships, sustains outreach, and collaborates with campus partners, including faculty and adjunct instructors in assigned liaison area. Provides reference services within and outside liaison area. Provides research consultations within liaison area. Designs and maintains learning materials and tools, including but not limited to the Springshare suite of products; collaborates with Scott Memorial Library librarians to streamline and maintain learning materials. Develops library collections to support curriculum in assigned liaison areas. Assists with weeding projects within the libraryrsquo;s collections. Oversees the architecture Materials Library to support students and faculty. Promotes and encourages Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the workplace and throughout the University Community.
