Full-time Physical Therapist Assistant

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide vital outpatient rehabilitation services in an in-home setting, catering primarily to the older adult population. This can take place in the patients' private residences or in independent living facilities. With Powerback Rehabilitation To You, you will evaluate and treat patients in their most functional environment—their home. Operating under the guidance of a Licensed Physical Therapist, your role is to deliver physical therapy treatments aimed at increasing patient independence and functionality. RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Participate in patient care and staffing conferences as a representative of physical therapy, under the physical therapist's direction.
  2. Ensure compliance with department and patient treatment schedules, timely clinical and billing documentation, and attendance at work-related meetings.
  3. Collaborate with other rehabilitation team members to implement tailored programs and activities that cater to each patient's specific needs and capabilities.
  4. Assist the Physical Therapist with tests, evaluations, and complex procedures.
  5. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on the physical therapy treatment program techniques, supervised by the Physical Therapist.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
  7. Care for and monitor therapy equipment, reporting any need for repairs as necessary.
  8. Prioritize patient service: Ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality service in a compassionate atmosphere that respects individual needs and rights.
  9. Implement the personalized treatment plan as outlined by the primary Physical Therapist.
  10. Administer customized physical therapy treatments, including:
    • Therapeutic exercises (aerobic conditioning, balance coordination, body mechanics, flexibility, gait training, strength training, etc.)
    • Functional training
    • Manual therapy
    • Airway clearance techniques
    • Integumentary repair
    • Electrotherapeutic modalities
    • Health and wellness education
    • Falls risk interventions
    • Chronic disease management education
  11. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to travel to patients' residences.
