We are seeking to add an experienced individual to our General Tank Assembly in Middleville. Please note that positional needs may vary, and those who receive an offer will be assigned based on their skill set and the current needs of the team. (You will be placed where your skill aligns as well as what aligns with the immediate production needs).
In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn the functional areas within Bradford White's Greater Assembly process - from installing components, testing water tanks, securing products, welding tanks, loading conveyors, and always being aware of PPE guidelines.
NOTE: The greater assembly process involves handling materials containing harmful chemicals, heavy steel, stainless steel, sharp-edged steel, and high-powered ovens (which can spike temperatures in nearby areas during summer months).
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to regularly understand/adhere to safety regulations and PPE guidelines.
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced/high-volume environment that features multiple stimuli.
- Ability to understand work instructions and required training.
- Ability to be cross-trained in multiple jobs within the given training period.
- Ability to lift heavy (bending, reaching, maneuvering, tilting, rotating products) 8-12 hours in a shift using majority muscle groups (chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs, hip flexors, abdomen).
- Ability to retain information with the expectation to be able to train after adequate time on the job.
- Ability to understand detail-oriented awareness of product specifications, quality, and potential defects.
- Prior experience in an industrial or similar environment that involves heavy lifting.
- Proficient understanding of basic math to keep track of product changeovers.
- Proficient ability to recall mechanical processes and understanding machine functionality.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that assembles large products.
- Prior experience in a metal works, steel, or aluminum shop or similar work environments.
- Prior experience in roles that required frequent troubleshooting and/or repair of machines, automobiles, home appliances, HVAC components, and other adjacent fields.
- Proficient prior experience using hand tools (e.g., drills, socket wrenches, hammers, ignition tools).
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) based on specific job tasks, including but not limited to steel-toe/composite boots, gloves, aprons, protective sleeves, safety eyewear, and hearing protection to ensure a safe working environment.
- Frequent, repetitive use of upper body muscle groups (arms, back, shoulders, abdomen) to lift and extend product portions, often weighing up to 50 lbs or more, overhead and securely place them on water tanks or designated areas.
- Prolonged standing for 8 to 12-hour shifts, involving consistent use of upper body muscles to assemble, align, and conjoin components on the final assembly lines.
- Regular, repetitive movements such as bending, reaching, tilting, and rotating materials for 8 to 12 hours per shift, utilizing primary muscle groups (chest, back, shoulders, arms, legs, hip flexors, abdomen) to perform tasks such as conjoining, welding, spray painting, loading/unloading, and rotating products as part of the production process.
- Regular use of various hand tools that require adequate twisting to secure attachments to products.
- Repeated use of hands, whether operating hand tools or fashioning cardboard bases for water heaters.
- Strong team-oriented mindset, with a genuine desire to contribute to collaborative efforts.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and concise exchanges.
- Ability to quickly comprehend and apply verbal/written instructions, demonstrating a proactive approach.
- Commitment to personal growth, with a focus on identifying improvement areas and mastering assigned responsibilities.
- Adaptability to constantly changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
- Receptiveness to feedback and constructive criticism, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
