Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist - Night Shift

Eligible for $10,000 Sign-On Bonus

Job Summary:

MLR Healthcare is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist (MLT/MT) to perform diagnostic testing according to physician orders under the supervision of the Clinical Director. This role requires expertise aligned with your education, training, and experience, including maintaining laboratory equipment, conducting quality assessments, and efficiently managing workloads. Additionally, the position may involve mentoring lab staff and students with the Laboratory Director's approval.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a positive departmental environment through effective leadership.
  • Engage in continuous learning to adopt new concepts and ideas.
  • Perform venipuncture proficiently across all patient age groups, ensuring specimen quality.
  • Conduct accurate testing in designated departments and address troubleshooting as needed.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) for quality control, documenting corrective actions and making informed decisions about patient results.
  • Process proficiency samples, document critical values, and maintain confidentiality when releasing results.
  • Participate in competency testing and professional development activities.
Requirements:
  • Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT, or equivalent).
  • Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting results.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, medical staff, and customers.
  • Ability to cater to patients of all ages and understand their needs and limitations.
  • Familiarity with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within established guidelines.
