We’re looking for a Surgical Technician for our Emory Decatur Hospital Endovascular Lab with at least 2yrs of experience. Our Technologist are integral members of inter-professional teams in hospitals and clinics that are committed to outstanding patient care, driven by their expertise, compassion and operate at a higher level of practice.
- Implements and evaluates care of patients undergoing diagnostic and invasive surgical procedures.
- Keeps the Perioperative team abreast of the procedure needs and progress.
- Identifies more complex patient needs by reviewing procedure protocol, physician's request, and assessing the patient's physical needs.
- Prioritizes procedure process and supplies for specialty group of patients.
- Plans for surgical procedure based on identified needs of surgeon and patient, implementing intervention for identified patient problems as related to surgical procedure and patient needs.
- Utilizes appropriate standards of care, and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care.
- Determine the equipment, materials, and resources needed to meet the patient procedure plan. Participates in identifying cost containment activities. Monitors and maintains supplies and initiates purchases to ensure par levels.
- Successfully completes hospital and department-based orientation programs, attending educational programs to develop optimal knowledge in area of specialty.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent job training. Certification in Surgical Technology preferred.
- Certified as a surgical technician or two years of experience in lieu of certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
