Position Overview: The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, extensive experience with accounting software, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Develops and maintains internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Reviews and analyzes financial data to provide insights on company performance and financial trends. Ensures timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ensures that job cost allocations are made in an accounting system, including those that are made based on formulas. Manages payroll and ensures compliance with tax laws and regulations. Monitors all payroll and fringe benefits; is responsible for compliance and oversight of personnel benefit plans. Coordinates with an external accounting firm during year-end closing process and provides necessary documentation. Works with the CEO and other senior leaders, as needed, to develop annual budgets and monitor them throughout the year. Monitors cash flow and manages bank reconciliations. Reconciles submitted credit card receipts to charges per monthly statements. Coordinates with project managers on the scheduled billings to customers. Performs basic human resource administrative functions such as maintaining records, supporting benefits enrollment and changes, participating in hiring and onboarding processes, and updating policies and procedures. Stays updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and improve efficiency. Ensures that financial terms of contracts and tax regulations are adhered to. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least two years managing financial systems. Experience using QuickBooks and Toast is preferred. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with payroll processing and tax filings. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
