Who We Seek
Hispanic Federation seeks a Data Management Intern will support data collection and provide analysis of programmatic data. The Intern will support an effort to uniformly represent data across programs and departments. They will assist in creating program-specific data collection processes, collect and aggregate data, and assist with data analysis.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of data management, and experience working or studying with nonprofit organizations. The intern will work in a hybrid role and may require onsite attendance at the HF DC Office.
Position Location: Washington, DC Offices
Reports to: Senior Director for Data Integration
Status: Temporary, Part-Time - Approximately 20 hours per week
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, aggregate and analyze program data to outline programmatic impact and success
- Provide technical assistance and training as needed to program team in data collection, aggregation, and analysis.
- Ensure data quality and confidentiality.
- Identify tools and recommend how-to materials and documents for the use of program staff, including data management rules and best practices.
- Graduate student with academic focus in data management or closely related field is strongly preferred, undergraduate students may be considered.
- An understanding of data management and related policies and procedures.
- Experience working with large data volumes, including collection, aggregation and analysis.
- Experience in producing clear plain-language data presentations, reports, and policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify and use appropriate data management and analytic software, e.g., SAS.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint) and/or other software to securely store, organize, and share information.
- Strong quantitative data skills.
- Experience with qualitative data.
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Flexible and collaborative spirit.
- Strong understanding of Latino and social justice issues and a commitment to Hispanic Federation's mission and core values.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset.
