Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics Job Summary: The Supplier Quality Engineer III works with minimal supervision and uses originality, ingenuity and established procedures to support the Crane Supplier Quality Management Strategy. The Supplier Quality Engineer III is also responsible for developing and implementing a supplier quality improvement and monitoring process that optimizes the supplier performance, product quality, and business qualification with Crane. Essential Functions: Partner with Supply Chain Director and other leadership team members to determine annual supplier quality objectives Develop, implement and maintain a Supplier Scorecard that monitors supplier quality, delivery and other metrics that track the general performance of the supplier Lead supplier Quarterly Business Reviews by supporting the Supply Chain team in assessing supplier performance, monitoring corrective action status, and driving supplier to continuous improvement Liaise with site Quality teams and suppliers to assure that quality issues are addressed, and corrective actions are in place and being properly managed to assure root cause analysis and corrective action reporting Conduct assessments of suppliers’ quality system and process control capability, and drive implementation of improvement plans Train and work with suppliers to develop quality control plans for assigned commodities and drive implementation Conduct first article and first batch audit inspections Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Non-Essential Functions: Prepare management reports and presentations regarding quality status and supplier performance Support Material Review Board (MRB) Actively engage and understand trends in the industry’s approach to quality and new approaches that may provide benefit to BU Minimum Requirements: Experience: Five (5) year’s minimum relevant work experience, preferably in the aerospace industry. Skills: Proficiently perform all standard tasks with skill while working in scenarios that require some degree of customization. Interact with internal and external personnel on matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge: Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science, quality science, and technology; including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of the latest quality science tools including, FMEA, GR&R, Control plans, Capability study and reduction of variations. Knowledge of the characteristics of metals, mechanical/electrical engineering, chemical processes, and other elements. Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or other related Science/Engineering field. Advanced degree is a plus.
