Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Estimator who can review and understand blueprints, work orders, tooling, and other written specifications. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in meeting expected work quotas and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the estimation process.
Responsibilities
Review and analyze drawings, prints, specifications, contracts, RFQs, and other documents for estimate-related activities.
Obtain material and subcontractor quotes.
Plan, prioritize, organize, and monitor all aspects of quoting activity.
Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value.
Prepare and submit quote forms and documents to order entry for issuance of travelers to the factory floor.
Collaborate with sales and customers on design for manufacturability.
Assist and review drawings with the manufacturing team, highlighting areas of concern.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Promote a daily safety-conscious work effort, notifying management of any work-related injuries, safety concerns, or near-miss incidents.
Participate in continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and exhibiting initiative.
Adapt to changing business needs, schedules, and deadlines, and perform other essential duties as assigned to support operational success.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in estimation and pricing systems.
Ability to analyze blueprints and mechanical documents.
Mechanical engineering knowledge.
Experience in metal fabrication and quality checks.
Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
ERP system experience.
Material handling expertise.
Tool and die knowledge.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Independent thinking and sound judgment.
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Time management and ability to prioritize work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with cost estimating and pricing systems.
Knowledge of precision sheet metal fabrication and machining is highly desirable.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in English.
Work Environment
The role involves working in an office and walking around the shop. The Manufacturing Estimator will not be confined to a desk and will need to communicate with others throughout the shop.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
