Student Respiratory Therapist
PRN, Days: 6:30a to 3p or 2:30p to 11p (16hrs per pay period)

Requirements:

  • Must be in the 2nd semester of a Respiratory Care Program to apply.
  • Job related course work beyond high school and enrolled in Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved RCS program.
  • Clinical check offs from school affiliation required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Basic computer skills, and knowledge of office equipment.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word processing), and mathematical skills.
About the Job:
  • Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders.
  • Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases.
  • Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Typically reports to a manager.
