Overview

Our growing Manufacturing infrastructure Services (MIS) team is actively interviewing for current and upcoming projects. Our Pipeline and Industrial Piping Engineer role provides you the opportunity to design the latest state-of-the-art facilities in a wide variety of markets such as oil & gas, industrial, manufacturing, real estate, solid waste, power, and public sector. We are seeking self-motivated individuals with strong communication skills and a passion to apply professional experience and knowledge in a team environment. You should be a detail-oriented professional, understand the importance of meeting personal and team commitments, and be flexible in adapting to a fast-paced environment. We are seeking candidates with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and having their Professional Engineer registration.

Responsibilities:
  • Possess an understanding of mechanical codes and standards such as ASME, API, and OSHA.
  • Plan, design, and engineer pipeline systems for the oil and gas sector.
  • Plan, design, and engineer industrial piping systems for industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Have experience with creating P&IDs and Block Flow Diagrams.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new and existing pipeline and industrial piping projects.
  • Select appropriate materials and technologies for projects based on environmental, safety, and operational needs.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations for pipe and pump sizing.
  • Oversee engineering and design team for projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide quality oversight for pipeline and piping designs performed by others.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project manager, architectural, structural, electrical, client and contractor to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Be the main point of contact for the piping discipline when meeting with the project manager, other discipline leads, contractors, and the client.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation, including specifications and technical reports, and budgets.
  • Monitor project scope of work and schedule to ensure the design team is operating efficiently to meet delivery milestones within budget.
  • Perform hazard and operability (HAZOP) analyses and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to address operational challenges and troubleshoot issues.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance system reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Train and mentor less experienced engineers and designers.
  • Generate engineering hour estimates to complete ongoing work and for new proposals.
Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in pipeline and piping design engineering, with a focus on oil & gas and industrial manufacturing project applications and piping systems.
  • Proficiency in discipline design software; AutoCAD Plant 3D, CAESAR II, Pipe Flo
  • Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, material science, and structural analysis.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of industry codes and standards (ANSI, ASME, IBC, ISO, NFPA)
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to perform field/site visits
  • Ability to travel (estimated travel time is 10%)
Preferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related field
    • Certifications in API standards or equivalent are advantageous.
    • Navisworks, and Bluebeam experience
    • Experience in leading a team of engineers and designers
