Honolulu, United States Booz Allen Hamilton Full time
Job Number: R0200285

GIS Analyst & Data Steward

The Opportunity:

With cloud-based tools, faster GPUs, and the explosion of connected devices, geospatial data has more potential than ever. A skilled geospatial and remote sensing analyst can turn that data into valuable information. If that sounds like you, we have an opportunity for you to use your geospatial analysis skills to transform our client's mission.

As a geospatial and remote sensing analyst at Booz Allen, you'll work with a team of analysts to extract meaning and context from geospatial data sources. Using resources like ArcGIS and SOCET GXP, you'll develop new ways to find patterns and connections to answer our client's needs.

On our team, you'll use your skills to leverage satellite and airborne remote sensing solutions, and you'll analyze data to assess meaning and potential intent. You'll develop and create geospatial solutions for priorities like infrastructure, topography, human geography, and intelligence. Your visualization skills will come in handy as you build geospatial products to make sure warfighters and decisionmakers have the timely information they need.

You'll share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as we work through challenges and develop workflows. This is an opportunity to broaden your skillset into areas like data science and advanced geospatial techniques while developing products to improve the client's response to mission requirements.

You Have:

  • Experience with GIS software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or SOCET, and spatial databases, such as PostGIS or Oracle Spatial

  • Experience with data quality assessment and control methodologies

  • Knowledge of geospatial data formats, such as shapefiles, GeoJSON, or KML, and standards, such as OGC

  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, SQL, or Arcade for data manipulation and analysis

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience with GIS engineering, or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience with GIS engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Structured Observation Management (SOM)

  • Experience with cloud-based geospatial services and platforms, such as AWS or Google Earth Engine

  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as ArcGIS Experience Builder or ArcGIS Dashboard, for presenting geospatial data insights

  • Experience in developing and implementing geospatial data governance frameworks

  • Knowledge of remote sensing and image processing techniques

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Information Management, or a related field

  • GIS Certification, such as GISP Certification, ESRI Professional Certification, or GEOINT Professional Certification (GPC)

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
