Job Summary:

The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of daily waste collection activities, ensuring optimal operational performance, workforce management, and adherence to safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain service excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision & Workforce Management: Oversee waste collection teams, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with company policies.
  • Operational Efficiency: Plan and optimize waste collection routes to maximize productivity and service delivery.
  • Fleet & Equipment Oversight: Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal waste management regulations, as well as health and safety guidelines.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze operational data, and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Staff Training & Development: Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to drivers and crew members, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Customer Service & Issue Resolution: Address service concerns, respond to operational challenges, and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Health & Safety Implementation: Enforce workplace safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in [Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field] preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three-five years in operations management, supervisory, or related roles.
  • Commercial driving experience preferred.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in waste management, logistics, or transportation operations.
  • Ability to manage teams and oversee daily operations.
  • Strong decision-making skills in fast-paced environments.
  • Understanding of waste collection procedures and safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with route planning systems and operational software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for team coordination and customer interactions.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, may include early mornings and weekends as needed
  • Outdoor & On-Site Work: Supervising waste collection crews in various weather conditions.
  • Fast-Paced & Hands-On: Requires quick problem-solving and operational decision-making.
  • Team-Oriented: Close collaboration with drivers, crew members, and management.
  • Safety-Focused: Strict adherence to safety protocols and workplace regulations.
