Job Description The Electrician performs as part of a multi-craft team providing wiring and a variety of other maintenance activities for repairs troubleshooting installation preventive maintenance and testing of equipment buildings and utility systems. Provides assistance with planning and execution of construction renovation and capital projects.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates a high caliber of workmanship in testing repairs and projects
Demonstrates efficiency in managing time and completing work orders and PMs within appropriate timeframes
Demonstrates flexibility in meeting customer needs
Identifies problems or quality challenges and develops/implements solutions and improvements
Other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Participates as an active group member of the fire brigade and snow removal crews when assigned
Participates in continuing education opportunities such as departmental meetings seminars classes trade schools or other training programs to remain current on new developments
Readily shares knowledge with co-workers and serves as a resource for the department on electrical systems
Remains flexible in terms of schedule and willingness to accept assignments in all areas to help the department and Centra achieve its goals
Responds to customers in a timely manner to resolve problems and meet their needs
Sees assignments through to completion including clean up and proper documentation
Willingly assists customers and co-workers
Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED
Preferred Education: Further education in the electrical trade
Required Experience: Knowledge of applicable electrical codes Excellent communication skills and the ability to function as part of a team Ability to read technical documents and follow verbal instructions Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Required Certifications and Licensures: Valid Virginia Driver's License
Preferred Certifications and Licensures: Masters electrician's card recognized by the State of Virginia or able to receive Masters credentials within six (6) months of employment
