This is a senior level position responsible for leading system design and architecture, in partnership with Enterprise Architecture and Senior Developers, to deliver technology solutions for Foundational Automation products: Workload Automation / Job Scheduling (AutoSys, CA7), IT Process Automation (Amelia Orchestration), Cognitive AI (Amelia Chatbot), and the Major Incident Management (MIM) application. 90%+ of the focus will be on invest products - Amelia and MIM. Amelia is a third-party COTS product and MIM is an in-house developed application used to coordinate all major technology incidents. The Foundational Automation team is responsible for delivery of enterprise class automation platforms, capabilities and experiences to users and stakeholders across the firm, with a deliberate focus on enabling and delivering to a digital-first strategy. The team is responsible for definition of holistic user journeys to streamline user experiences through automation and self-service capabilities. The team is comprised of a diverse and global workforce, operating out of multiple locations in the United States and India enabling follow the sun model. This position is for a Principal Engineer to lead the design and architecture of a dynamic incident remediation platform that significantly improves IT incident management lifecycle. This role will be pivotal in delivering Cloud-native AI-based solutions with a strong focus on availability, scalability, resilience, and reliability practices. In addition, there is a need for enabling integration with the enterprise systems, platforms, and workflows for seamless machine-first operations. The Principal Engineer must adopt and support a culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and openness. In this role, you will: Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommends innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership Provide thought-leadership and expertise to formulate and execute technology implementations. Establish strong relationships with Enterprise Architecture and Technology Principals to drive strategic outcomes. Work with Product Owners, Principal Engineers, and internal customers to develop robust and scalable solutions. Own the end-to-end lifecycle of software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, including architecture design, development, testing and scaling. Develop high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions that ingrate data insights into actionability through intelligent automation. Keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI, software development and system architecture. MUST have robust experience with modern SDLC practices. Strong advocate of software engineering best practices and bring disciplined approach to testing, continuous delivery, and reducing technical debt. Required Qualifications: 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 7 + years of experience designing software solutions using software architecture design principles 5 + years of experience with design and development of microservices with RESTful APIs and integration of back-end services. 5+ years of experience in front-end application development using .Net, JavaScript/TypeScript. 5+ years of experience building large enterprise, collaborative applications. 3+ years of experience building web applications. Desired Qualifications: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Strong proficiency in React and its ecosystem (Redux, React Router, etc.). Familiarity with Playwright and/or Cypress for automated testing of application interfaces. Strong technical communication skills (verbal and written) to interface with cross-functional technical teams within and/or outside of the organization.
