Title: Human Resources Generalist
Reports to: Director of Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
Location: 5350 Machado Road, Culver City, CA 90230
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Program Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Position Summary
Manages the day-to-day operations of the human resource office of the company, as well as the administration of the human resources policies, procedures, and programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Administer training to employees (i.e. Back to School HR Policies, Supervisor Training, etc.)
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
- Keep records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
- Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and proactive responses.
- Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Administer benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Investigate accidents and prepare reports for insurance carrier.
- Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Comply with ECF's Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Ensure safe use and operation of tools and/or equipment.
- Comply with ECF policies and procedures, including mandated reporting requirements.
- Observe regular, on-site work hours.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelor's degrees in human resources or related field is required.
Experience: Five years in Human Resources with knowledge and a deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
- Knowledge of state and federal requirements related to employment.
- Knowledge of HR practices, functions, and best practices
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while being flexible as needs change
- Remarkable organizational and conflict management skills.
Requirements
- Driving is an essential function of the position. Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, evidence of car insurance, and insurable driving record.
- Pass a DOJ background investigation.
- Provide evidence of a negative TB test initially and every three years thereafter.
Work site is located in a building shared with a school for students (grades K-12th) who have varying degrees of learning, behavioral, emotional, and developmental disabilities. Employee may encounter students who are in crisis, exhibiting emotional/psychological distress, or behaving in an aggressive manner. Environment may include frequent interruptions, loud noise, odors, varying indoor temperature, and drafts.

Pay Range
$25.00 Hourly to $36.00 Hourly
