Consults with physicians to develop and implement a treatment plan for the patient. Performs physiotherapy and other treatments and teaches patients to use medications. Reports to: Supervisor - Respiratory Therapy; Director of Cardio Services Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, time management skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Ability to utilize keyboard, computer, and various pieces of general office equipment. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care based upon the diverse population of patients, and based on physical, psycho/social, education, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patient served. Required Certifications/Licensure Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire NRP within six months of hire. Licensed as a Respiratory Therapist by the Virginia Board of Health Professions and in good standing with the Board.
