JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: LABOR & DELIVERY

Shift Timings: Night shift 19:00-7:30 Hours

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Unit Capacity: 14 L&D Beds 2 Triage Beds 4 Recovery Beds 3 Surgical Suites

Population Served: Vaginal Deliveries, Cesarean Sections, Curettages, and Cerclage procedures Antepartum, Triage, High risk pregnancies and managing their conditions.

Adolescent through Adult Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
  • Minimum three years of current RN Labor & Delivery experience
  • Active unencumbered RN California state license
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
  • AWONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring
Requirements:
  • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
