Summary

This is a hybrid position with .5 of the time spent in a behavioral health outpatient practice and .5 of the time spent in an integrated medical practice. As a provider integrated into a medical setting, you will work closely with the medical staff and behavioral health clinician(s) to support psychiatric care of the patients. You will conduct psychiatric evaluations, advise medical providers on medication and treatment strategies, and at times may begin the treatment regimen to stabilize patient symptoms within a few brief visits.

In the outpatient practice, you will provide face-to-face psychiatric evaluations, medication management and health care to patients. The nurse practitioner will co-manage their caseloads with the physicians. The position also includes developing and recording a plan for effective and timely treatment for patients.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner by the Maine State Board of Nursing and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management

Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating psychiatric patients.

Specific credentialing criteria neededif working in the hospital asdefined by Medical Staff By-Laws.

Minimum of 2 years' experience as a PMHNP
