About the Role

The Primary Therapist is responsible for performing a wide variety of client care activities at the direction of the Clinical Director.

The Primary Therapist provides group, individual, and family therapy. The Primary Therapist also supports admissions activities for prospective and intake clients by conducting psychosocial and bio-psychosocial assessments. The Primary Therapist will collaborate with the Clinical Team to create a treatment plan, and assist in coordinating discharge planning.

Role Responsibilities
  • Ensures effective delivery of clinical client care in compliance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable state, federal regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling, utilizing psycho-diagnostic assessment procedures and psychometric methods to facilitate psychotherapy as needed.
  • Lead psycho-education and process groups for adult and/or adolescent programs.
  • Partner with the Clinical team to create, implement and review treatment plans, and manage/coordinate services for assigned clients, both internally and with external service providers.
  • Conduct psychological and bio-physical assessments for active clients and intakes during the admissions process. Conduct crisis intervention, and consultation/outreach as needed.
  • Ensure all required clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner via our electronic record keeping system, including but not limited to call notes, individual, family or group sessions notes, weekly summaries, treatment plans, monthly treatment plan reviews and discharge summaries.
  • Ensure weekly DAP notes include a summary of client's activities, progress, individual session, and are congruent with and addresses treatment plan goals and objectives.
  • Monitor to assure that continuous quality improvement goals and quality assurance standards are being met and that all clinical services and paperwork comply with applicable regulatory agency guidelines (federal, state, and accreditation).
  • Provide information for any insurance reviews and required documentation for utilization management as applicable.
  • Must demonstrate ability to deal with crisis situations which require prompt decision and action.
  • Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues and offer assistance to individuals struggling with substance abuse.
  • Attend and represent Peace Club at Opioid Task Force and other advocacy based meetings as requested.
  • Comply with all regulatory agency guidelines (federal, state, and accreditation).
  • With consideration to work environment, seek continued emotional health and self-care when necessary to maintain balance.

    • Able to communicate clearly and concisely in both written, in-person, and telephone communication.
    • Experienced working with the G-suite of products: Google Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Drive, Sheets, and Slides.
    • Able to travel to conferences, training, and in-person meetings as necessary using your own vehicle

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Required.
  • Currently licensed as a LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT preferred.
  • Experienced in mental health counseling and substance use treatment, preferably Opioid Use Disorder and PTSD
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver's license record
  • Level II Background Check Required
  • Must pass a drug screening prior to starting and throughout employment.
  • Experience with Medication Assisted Treatment preferred.
  • Certified with an evidence based trauma intervention preferred.
  • Qualified Supervisor preferred.
  • Consistent and flexible as circumstances warrant and presents oneself in an appropriately personable and professional manner to clients and staff.
  • Possess an enhanced level of self-awareness in relating to others, and an ability to effectively modulate personal style as conditions warrant.
  • Able to quickly build rapport with clients as a requisite for healthy and therapeutic relationships.
  • Maintain ethical and therapeutic boundaries with clients and staff.
  • Effectively weigh and evaluate personal needs, client needs and the aims and policies of the agency and to respond and negotiate these competing needs as appropriate.
  • Remain calm and supportive in psychological emergencies and/or crises when provided with appropriate supervision and direction.
