Animal ER Care, LLC is a growing VECCS II and AAHA-accredited emergency hospital with two locations in the Pikes Peak region. We are seeking credentialed technicians experienced in emergency and critical care to join our practice.
Our flagship practice is located within the Veterinary Specialty Center complex which houses multiple specialty practices including Southern Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine, Mountain View Veterinary Surgery, Animal Dental Care and Oral Surgery, Animal Allergy and Dermatology, and Colorado Canine Orthopedics. We work collaboratively with our neighboring practices to provide well-rounded care to our patients. Some of the services available to the patients within the specialty center includes emergency stabilization of trauma and acute illness, continued care through internal medicine for chronic/advanced illness, CT and endoscopy, advanced orthopedic care, soft-tissue surgery, oncology, specialty dentistry, and more. Animal ER Care's doctors practice up-to-date medicine and work together in a supportive environment to ensure we are providing comprehensive care to all pets.
Our newest location, near Academy and Carefree, is operating during the day with the goal of being open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by the end of 2024.
Outpatient - As an outpatient technician your focus will be on assessment of critical triages, patient care and stabilization, critical care monitoring, induction and monitoring of sedation and anesthetic procedures, as well as any outpatient treatments. This position requires critical thinking skills related to disease processes, prioritization of multiple cases at once, managing times of limited staff support, and managing critical patients with knowledge and confidence.
ICU Technician - Our ICU technicians are dedicated to the continued care of emergent and critical cases within our busy ICU. Primary responsibilities include supportive care and advanced monitoring of hospitalized patients with various disease processes both acute and chronic, treatments including blood and plasma transfusions, advanced care of infectious patients (parvo, respiratory isolation), etc. ICU technicians play a vital role in communicating patient status and status changes to the veterinarian in a timely manner, as well as educating and updating the client on the status of their beloved family member. As ICU accepts cases from all specialty center services, multiple patients may be admitted simultaneously, which requires the ability to assess and prioritize patient care and immediate needs.
Client Advocate (CA) - Our Client Advocate's primary responsibilities include patient assessment upon presentation to the hospital, placing patients in the triage line based upon status of each pet, presentation of estimates for care, provide client education, and act as the liaison between the client and the doctor when appropriate. This position is an essential part of the client experience therefore you must have excellent communication skills, knowledge of veterinary medicine, and excellent multi-tasking and critical-thinking skills.
Requirements:
We are seeking individuals who are knowledgeable, able to multitask, strive for excellence, and have a desire to be a part of a high-performing team. Advance knowledge of disease processed and advanced critical thinking skills also required.
A minimum of 5 years as a Vet Tech and/or 3+ years in Emergency medicine and an increased responsibility skill set is required.
If you are looking to challenge yourself professionally and be part of a team advancing veterinary medicine into the future, then AERC is the place for you.
