The Mechanical Engineer II for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for design changes and updates for the deployed Immunoassay instrument fleet.

This position is part of the Immunoassay R&D Engineering located in Chaska MN, and will be an On-site position. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the R&D Mechanical group and report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager responsible for the development of diagnostic instruments. If you thrive in an innovative, diverse, and challenging role and want to work to build a world-class engineering organization-read on.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design solutions to complex mechanical problems
  • Work with cross-functional groups to accomplish design changes
  • Understand complicated electromechanical devices that handle diagnostic samples
  • Support a variety of diagnostic instruments during their life cycle
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years experience in a related field OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Medical device development engineering
  • Skilled in the systems engineering approach
