Part-Time DispatcherJob DescriptionOverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a part-time Dispatcher. This critical role ensures the smooth operation of our logistics and transportation services by providing comprehensive coverage and coordination. You will be responsible for overseeing the movement of trailers, managing driver schedules, and maintaining accurate records of yard activities. Your ability to adapt to changes swiftly and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including drivers, common carriers, and plant or DC personnel will be key to your success in this role.Working Hours* Shift Options: Saturday and Sunday from 11 AM to 11 PM OR Friday and Saturday from 11 PM to 11 AM.* Availability for holiday and vacation coverage as needed.Responsibilities* Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, including entering/exiting yard for service, security, and "on the road" issues.* Schedule deliveries, backhaul pickups, and manage daily operations such as trailer retrieval from customers and bobtail tracking.* Track trailer movements in the yard, manage drop trailer reports, and monitor trailer utilization and equipment damages.* Interface with drivers, mechanics, hostlers, and other internal and external customers and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.* Process rental trailers, coordinate returns, and manage tractor assignments as necessary.* Provide drivers with all necessary administrative requirements for trips, including directions, tolls, and complete site security procedures.* Accurately record yard activity using yard inventory systems and manage sales contacts regarding off-hours load status.* Handle first step accident reporting process and other assignments as needed.Compensation & Benefits:- The expected compensation range for this position is between $17 - $18 per hour (part time position)- Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.Qualifications* 1-3 years of customer service / dispatching experience* High school degree* Basic/Intermediate level with MS Office and In-House systems.* Ability to work with constraints and deadlines with good customer service skills.
