Position Summary: Assume responsibilities for direct nursing care of assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician in patient care area. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the LPN as defined by the Florida Board of Nursing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids the physician/nurse practitioner during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Draw blood samples and obtain urine specimens
  • Observes, records, and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians/nurse practitioners.
  • Maintains timely flow of patients.
  • Greets patients and prepares them for physician/nurse practitioner examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Arranges for patients testing and information.
  • Formulates and updates patient care plans. Orders, prepares, and inspects patients' charts. Posts tests and examination results.
  • Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.
  • Participates in CLIA and OSHA compliance and monitoring.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Monitors emergency kit and equipment as required.
  • Monitors and maintains supplies and medications as appropriate.
  • Completes referrals and other paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Maintains tracking of UDS required information.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • Licensure as a practical nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with FAC 210-8.22 or 8.27.
  • Work requires a minimum of 1 year experience in responsible clinical/medical operations
