JOB SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care in patient care situations using standards and procedures. Provide direct nursing care to patients. Assumes teaching and leadership responsibilities. Need minimal supervision.

  • Performs thorough admission assessment, obtains appropriate medical history and provides intervention.
  • Delivers patient care and treatment using problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Administers medication safely and accurately, and utilizes resources when questions arise.
  • Initiates and coordinates patient/family teaching using individualized teaching methods.
  • Evaluates outcomes of care to determine if patient needs were met.
  • Maintains communication with patient family/significant other as patient progresses through continuum of care.
  • Willingly assists in all perioperative areas, including PreOp, PACU, and Endoscopy PACU.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida.
  • BLS certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  • Experience as required for department.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
