Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of a contract management reconciliation application. This project focuses on reconciling claims and reimbursements with Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) such as Optum and Caremark. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java backend development, full-stack development with JavaScript/TypeScript, and expertise in large-scale data processing using technologies like PySpark and Hadoop. As part of an agile team, you'll work closely with developers, architects, and business analysts to build scalable, efficient, and high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Backend Development:

Develop and maintain the Java backend for the contract management reconciliation app, ensuring it integrates seamlessly with frontend technologies and external systems.

Utilize the Spring Framework for building microservices and web applications in a robust and scalable manner.

Full-Stack Development:

Contribute to both backend and frontend components of the application, with ReactJS or Angular as part of the tech stack.

Develop user-facing features and ensure a seamless integration between the frontend and backend layers.

Integration of Technologies:

Integrate Java with PySpark for large-scale data processing tasks, leveraging both technologies to manipulate and reconcile data from PBMs.

Work on integrating data and processing logic across Palantir Foundry, Hadoop, and Kafka to support data-driven functionalities in the application.

Data Reconciliation Logic:

Design and implement reconciliation logic to check for overpayments and underpayments between PBMs (Optum, Caremark, etc.) and CVS, ensuring accurate monthly and weekly reimbursements.

Develop processes to review and validate expected reimbursements, ensuring accurate processing based on contract terms.

Collaboration & Agile Development:

Work in an agile development environment, participating in sprints, scrums, and code reviews to ensure high-quality development.

Collaborate with a distributed team of developers, QA engineers, and business analysts to deliver solutions that meet business requirements and milestones.

Cloud Integration:

Work with cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS, Azure) to deploy and maintain scalable applications in a distributed environment.

Utilize Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment pipelines to automate builds and testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

Java Development:

5+ years of experience in Java backend development, with a solid understanding of the Spring Framework and Java EE (JSP, Servlets, etc.).

Experience with large-scale data processing in Java and integrating Java-based systems with PySpark.

Frontend Development:

Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks such as ReactJS and Angular.

Experience building user-facing applications and integrating them with backend systems.

Data Processing and Integration:

Experience working with PySpark for processing large datasets.

Familiarity with Hadoop, Kafka, or similar distributed data processing and messaging systems.

Experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and ensuring data consistency across systems.

Cloud and DevOps:

Experience deploying applications in cloud environments, preferably Azure.

Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD, managing code repositories, and automating deployments.

Domain Knowledge:

Experience in the retail or healthcare domain, particularly related to Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) or insurance claims.

Understanding of reconciliation processes, particularly around payments, reimbursements, and claims.

Agile Development:

Experience working in agile development teams, with familiarity in working with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Git.

Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within a distributed team.

Preferred Skills:
  • Palantir Foundry: Familiarity with the Palantir Foundry platform is highly desirable.
  • Kafka: Experience working with Kafka for real-time data streaming and messaging.
  • Hadoop: Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystem (e.g., HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, etc.).
  • Healthcare or Retail Domain: Experience in the healthcare or retail domain, specifically working on applications related to claims, contracts, or reimbursements.

Development Methodology:

Agile - You will be working in an agile development environment, collaborating with teams in Woonsocket, Texas, and Illinois to build and deliver the project iteratively.

Team Size and Breakdown:

Design and Development Team: Approximately 10 team members across multiple locations, including Woonsocket, Texas, and Illinois.

Experience Level:

Senior-Level - 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
