Java Software Developer (Augmented Reality Security)

Location: Northeast Ohio (Hybrid: On-site 1-2 days/week)

Contract Duration: Open-ended (Estimated: 2 years)

With a hybrid work arrangement, you'll collaborate in a high-security environment that requires on-site presence in Northeast Ohio 1-2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced Java-based solutions to drive improvements in turnaround times and product quality.
  • Develop and enhance software systems using modern Java technologies and microservices architecture.
  • Build scalable, maintainable, and efficient backend systems with a strong focus on RESTful API development.
  • Develop innovative solutions using Java frameworks and tools, ensuring robustness and adaptability to evolving requirements.
  • Modernize legacy systems by integrating Java-based microservices and leveraging CI/CD pipelines for streamlined development.
  • Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, delivering high-quality software that meets stringent security standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technology-driven solutions.

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Expertise in Java programming: Strong background in developing, deploying, and maintaining Java applications.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and principles, with a focus on performance and scalability.
  • Hands-on expertise in RESTful API design and development.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing large-scale Java systems.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and containerization.
  • Experience creating and maintaining on-premises and hybrid cloud production environments.
  • Knowledge of logging and monitoring tools, such as ELK Stack and Prometheus.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in SpringBoot for building enterprise-level Java applications.
  • Familiarity with Java Threading and WebSocket for real-time, multithreaded solutions.
  • Experience with Docker to containerize Java applications for enhanced deployment efficiency.
  • Background in IoT, machine learning, or AI with a focus on Java-based implementations.
  • Hands-on experience with video encoding/decoding/streaming and mobile development using Java.
  • Expertise in Java desktop applications and cross-platform development.
