Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Management oversight of the drainage design team, including training/mentoring junior staff engineers.
  • Daily project coordination with clients and subconsultants.
  • Develop project scopes, prepare and negotiate manhour estimates, perform Quality Control for drainage component of construction plans, provide cost effective solutions for RFI's.
  • Become engage in various roadway design tasks as needed.
  • Oversee design and preparation of plans and details using AutoCad/Microstation and Civil-3D/InRoads.
  • Oversee production of hydrologic studies, drainage analyses, and design and documentation of the process within drainage reports for a variety of projects (large and small).
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and valid California Professional Engineer's License.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the civil engineering field with emphasis in drainage study and design is required.
  • Applicants should have a solid understanding and level of experience with hydrologic methods and hydraulic analysis.
  • Experience with evaluating components of scour and design of scour protection measures required.
  • Experience includes design of open and closed stormwater collection systems, stormwater field investigations, design of stormwater management systems, permit coordination and documentation, highway planning, cost estimating, plans preparation, and preparation of Pond Siting Reports, Project Development and Environmental Studies, Bridge Hydraulic Reports, review of drainage connection permits, temporary drainage, and the preparation of DOT & Transit Agency/ Authority plans.
  • Experience with state, county and city hydrology and drainage methodologies required.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $150,000 to $290,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
