We seek to hire a Purchasing Agent who will strengthen our company culture and represent the company well while purchasing the materials for all production home product types (Single Family, Carriage Homes and Townhomes). Manage and maintain our product/material data base for pricing and purchasing.

The candidate's responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Order all required material on time per the job schedule to avoid any job delays
  • Manage product / material cost for real time updates and job cost control
  • Analyze job cost variance data and recommend / take corrective actions as needed
  • Monitor cost control and look for possible reductions including value engineering suggestions, etc.
  • Support production with PO's as required for any extra material/work that has been approved.
  • Monitor standard operating procedures for purchasing, the effectiveness of procedures, revise and improve purchasing processes and procedures as needed.
  • Participate in correction of design problems to minimize budget variances, reduce costs and avoid repetitive mistakes.
  • Continually develop and maintain relationships with trade partners, vendors and suppliers.

Requirements for this position include:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree or High School Diploma with minimum of 3 years of Purchasing experience.
  • High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Self-audit of work produced.
  • Construction knowledge with above average ability to read, understand & interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Proficient use of purchasing software. (Trainability in MarkSystem as needed)
