SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST- SLP - School

Speech Language Pathologists are needed forfull-time, school-basedpositions inJonesboro, GA. These positions offer full-time scheduling, Monday through Friday, 35 hours weekly for the duration of the2024 - 2025 school year. We currently have an opening in a Clayton County Elementary School.Ideal candidates will have at least two years of recent pediatric/school-based experience, excel in independent time management and a fast-paced environment, be proficient in evaluations, and have excellent communication skills.New graduates will be considered. This district understands the importance of a supportive network of SLPs and leadership and makes that very readily available.

PAY:

$1,575/weekly gross

$45/hourly

35 hours/week

  • Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement

  • Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing handicapped children

  • Assists and guides teachers in observing, describing, and referring to suspected and identified speech and language impairments

  • Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of articulation, voice, hearing, stuttering, and language impairments

  • Provides screening to identify speech-handicapped children at regular intervals and specified levels

  • Provides appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and to correct existing speech or language handicaps

  • Collaborates with classroom teachers and other school staff members to implement therapy by making suggestions for the student's daily activities

  • Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate

  • Provides in-service education and serves as a consultant to teachers and school members on topics concerning speech improvement

  • Keeps thorough ongoing records for the individual student receiving therapy or other school-provided speech services

JOB REQUIREMENTS FOR THESPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST:

  • Successful completion of the National Certification Examination

  • 1+ yearsof recent pediatrics/school-based experience preferred

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology

  • Valid SLP license in GA

  • ASHA certification
