Our services include a state-of-the-art psychiatric urgent care center and a soon-to-be-built pediatric behavioral health center, outpatient, inpatient, partial hospitalization (day programs), assessment and testing, residential, addiction treatment and specialty services such as crisis response, employee assistance programs, forensic psychiatry and psychology, and neuromodulation. On-the-job educational programs for nurses, psychologists, advanced practice providers, psychiatrists, and chaplains are equipping the next generation of care providers.

What Will You Do?
As a Lead Psychiatric Technician at Pine Rest, you'll be part of tight-knit team that believes in the healing power of your expertise and compassion. The Lead Psychiatric Technician under general supervision and according to departmental policies and procedures and within the individual plan of care performs the role of physical, emotional, and medical care given to patients with mental illness and/or developmental delays as directed by the program Manager, Psychiatrist, and/or program (Charge) nurse. The Lead Psychiatric Technician is responsible to actively participate in safety management, milieu management, crisis intervention and prevention.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides a safe and secure environment for patients and staff in both individual and group settings
- Collaborates in implementation of patient programs
- Documents meal intake, ADLs, activities and programming lead by psychiatric technician, reporting any immediate concerns according to departmental policies and procedures. Reports observed behaviors or other relevant information to RN for documentation.
- Completes reports as needed and directed by the Charge RN.
- Assists in the teaching of patient/family.
- Responsible to role model the mission and values of the organization through appropriate social behavior and appropriate problem solving. Provides spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients. Also responsible to role model the principles of Relationship Based Care.
- Assist Clinical Service Manager in annual performance reviews.
- Assist in the supervision of psychiatric technicians as directed by Clinical Service Manager/lead RN. This may include but is not limited to: support in growth and learning during probationary period, addressing performance issues, creation of development plans, completing verbal or written corrective actions.
- Responsible to actively participate in safety management, milieu management, crisis intervention and prevention. Related activities include but are not limited to the following: observing, monitoring, de-escalation, implementation of restrictive measures, and emergency medical care.
Education/Experience:
- Position requires completion of high school (or equivalent).
- Completion of a minimum of six months post high school education in behavioral sciences or equivalent is preferred. CNA certification or one to two years of college education is preferred.
- One year or more of experience working with persons with mental illness and/or developmental delays.
- Trained to work in the age group of the patient being served with annual continuing age specific education and demonstrated competence.
