inTEST Thermal Solutions is now seeking a full time Purchasing Agent to join our team

Requirements

Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Purchasing Agent executes procurement of all materials and equipment necessary for manufacturing operations. Performs diversified buying duties which include procurement, vendor management, material negotiations and inventory levels.

Plans and execute the procurement of materials via MRP needed in support of orders and forecasts. Negotiate favorable material costs to company's benefit, establish contractual terms, reduce inventory, manage supplier on time deliveries and quality.

Maintains an adequate number of approved suppliers to ensure company requirements are met. Locates, evaluates and suggests qualified vendors to supply the Company with needed materials and services as required.

Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specification. Maintain appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.

Manage inventory levels via system reports to support production schedules and customer orders, while maintaining optimal and appropriate product lead-times. Communicate status of projects and requirements internally.

Process non-conforming material requests and RMA requests with supply chain partners.

Act as a liaison between suppliers and involved departments to resolve procurement related problems. Initiate and execute supplier corrective actions as needed.

Determine causes of material delays to prevent recurrence and negotiate adjusted delivery dates.

Inventory Control and Manage Material required to support floor production schedule and customer orders: to include managing Inventory levels via system reports, planning for inventory requirements, communicate status of projects and requirements internally, and managing orders against lead times.

Manage MRP information and place orders, reschedule, and expedite accordingly, ensuring maximum cost/quantity/delivery optimization

Review MRP and plan all items, negotiate costs, establish contractual terms, reduce inventory, on time delivery and manage material price variance to company's benefit.

Experience:

  • MRP/ERP system: 3 years (Preferred)
  • 3 years purchasing/materials experience
  • Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)
  • Experience in an ISO manufacturing facility is an asset
Qualifications:
  • Negotiation skills and the ability to comprehend new information rapidly and integrate same to create successful outcomes.
  • Highly organized with well-developed time-management skills and processes for managing priorities in one's own work and that of others.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and take independent action
  • Expertise in evaluating, and maintaining a good working relationship with suppliers
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.

Education:

Associates Degree in Business Discipline Preferred
