Overview

We are looking for a positive and compassionate Part-Time Activities Assistant to schedule and coordinate events for our Fellowship Square, Independent Living Community. The activities assistant will create and handle the logistics for daily, weekly, and monthly events to engage residents and deliver fun and safe events. You should be detail-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal and time management skills.

To succeed as an Activities Assistant, you should strive to engage in activities that will appeal to the age and physical or emotional condition of our residents We are looking for a professional team player to help bring "fun" to our seniors while preserving their dignity and quality of life.

This position's primary purpose is to assist in the coordination and execution of in-house and off-campus activities, events, and community excursions in an efficient manner, following established procedures and as directed by the Activities Director.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the execution, physical set-up, and staffing of in-house events and classes.
  • Staff off-site resident excursions in the community.
  • Assist with resident reservations and activity sign-up records.
  • Answer the phones.
  • Follow up with residents by phone or personally to confirm activity sign-up and reservations.
  • Disseminate activity schedules to residents, including monthly event postings and newsletters.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm attitude when visiting with staff and residents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure resident rights are protected.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma required
  • Current Fingerprint Clearance Card, Food Handlers Card, and negative TB test required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Able to make independent decisions when in various circumstances.
  • Must possess good communication and people skills.
  • Office and administrative skills a must.
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.
  • Experience working with seniors a plus.
  • Able to take and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Team player, dedicated worker and love to have fun

Part-Time Schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8:30am-4pm. With Flexible shift availability.
