Job Description
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Test Coordinator to manage and coordinate software testing activities across IT applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of QA processes, defect and incident management, testing tools, and IT infrastructure, along with the ability to work effectively with technical and business teams. The role requires flexibility to operate in a 24/7 support environment, including rotational and night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Apply a strong understanding of software testing principles, testing methodologies, testing life cycles, and QA best practices.
- Coordinate defect identification, logging, prioritization, triage, and resolution.
- Manage and support change request and incident management processes related to testing activities.
- Utilize ServiceNow, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Microsoft Office Suite to support test tracking, reporting, documentation, and coordination.
- Ensure testing activities comply with established organizational standards and procedures. Test Planning & Execution
- Prepare detailed test plans and test approaches based on business requirements, technical specifications, and project objectives.
- Organize and coordinate test preparation, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities.
- Work closely with developers, application teams, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and testing expectations.
- Track testing progress, identify risks and dependencies, and ensure testing milestones are achieved within agreed timelines.
- Review test results and coordinate the resolution of issues identified during testing. Banking Domain Knowledge
- Apply a working understanding of banking processes, systems, and business requirements to support effective testing activities.
- Develop and review test scenarios with consideration for banking-specific workflows and regulatory or operational requirements.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure testing outcomes are aligned with business and industry expectations. IT Infrastructure Knowledge
- Demonstrate familiarity with Windows and Unix servers, networking concepts, databases, and patch management.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and application support teams to address environment-related testing dependencies.
- Understand how infrastructure components can impact application testing, availability, and overall system performance.
- Support testing activities involving changes to the wider IT environment. Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Maintain clear and effective communication with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project management.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve testing-related issues.
- Provide regular status updates covering test execution, defects, risks, issues, and overall testing progress.
- Ensure relevant testing documentation and reports are maintained accurately and delivered within agreed timelines. Shift & Operational Requirements
- Be willing to work within a 24/7 operational environment, including rotational shifts, night shifts, weekends, and flexible rosters as required.
- Adapt effectively to changing business priorities, project requirements, and operational demands.
- Maintain a proactive approach when managing multiple testing activities and competing priorities. Qualifications & Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven experience as a Test Coordinator or in a comparable software testing/QA position.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, QA processes, testing life cycles, and industry best practices.
- Hands-on knowledge of ServiceNow, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of defect management, change management, and incident management processes.
- Familiarity with banking domain processes and requirements.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Unix servers, networking, databases, and patching.
- Strong organizational, coordination, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
