Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Sonographer with at least 1 year of experience and active ARDMS and BLS certifications for an acute care assignment.

Responsibilities

- Acute care setting on an Ultrasound unit with 3 scanning rooms
- Responsibilities include general outpatient, inpatient, and emergent imaging
- Average caseload is 8 studies per tech per day
- Uses Cerner EMR (transitioning to Epic), Siemens PACS, Siemens radiology, and Phillips equipment
- May be required to float to clinic as needed
- Day shifts of 8 hours with call requirements on weekends and holidays
- No self-scheduling and may work solo
- Department-specific orientation provided
- Black scrubs required as dress code
- No IV starts required
- Radiologist not in-house 24/7
- Local candidates within 80 miles are eligible at a reduced rate
- Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 6 months and require hospital approval for return
- Call and standby coverage required with specific response time
- All RTO must be included at the time of application

Requirements

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sonographer
- Active ARDMS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- License required if applicable
- Two professional references: one from a recent supervisor and one from a peer or supervisor in the specialty
- Willingness to train is acceptable
- Must be able to clock in and out per facility policy
