Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery(Block schedule available for all openings)

Location: Midland, TX

Job Type: Contract

Shifts Available:

- 2 Day Shifts (3x12-Hour, 07:00 - 19:00)
- 2 Night Shifts (3x12-Hour, 19:00 - 07:00)
Block schedule available for all openings

Duration: 16 weeks (minimum 13 weeks considered)

Job Overview:
We are seeking experienced Labor & Delivery RNs to join our team. The RN will rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no postpartum). Must be able to work at least one holiday (eve and day).

Required Experience & Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Labor & Delivery
- Previous charge experience required
- Must be able to circulate, assist with high-risk deliveries, vaginal deliveries, and transition newborns
- IV therapy/phlebotomy, administration of blood & blood products
- Telemetry interpretation preferred
- Ability to use infusion pumps, monitor IVs, and administer various medications including insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, and terbutaline

Certifications:

- BLS, ACLS, NRP required
- AWHONN Advanced* and Intermediate* preferred
- FHM*, NIHSS preferred

Skills & Responsibilities:

- Labor and Delivery Management: assist with high-risk deliveries, C-section circulation, forceps/vacuum extraction*, hemorrhage/shock*, sterile vaginal exams
- Neonatal Care: APGAR scores, newborn transition, baby identification, radiant warmer/thermoregulation
- Antepartum Care: sterile speculum exams, NST, triage, reflex/edema assessment, use of external fetal monitoring
- Postpartum Care: breastfeeding support, Foley catheter management, fundus/lochia/perineum care, care for patients post-C-section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Pain Management: epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, PCA usage, pain assessment and management
- Professional Skills: isolation precautions, vaccine administration, fetal monitoring including recognition and treatment of abnormal heart rate patterns, IUPC placement and calibration

Unit Details:

- Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Adults
- Daily Census: Fluctuating
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 (days, nights, weekends)
- Float Required: Yes (antepartum)
- Charting: Cerner experience preferred

Work Requirements:

- Must work some holidays
