This is a 13-week contract position.

/n/nSchedule/n

The role requires three 12-hour night shifts, from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There is also a requirement to work holidays as scheduled.

/n/nJob Description/n

The unit consists of a Neuro Stepdown & Epilepsy Monitoring Unit with a total of 31 beds. The registered nurse (RN) will provide care for higher acuity neuroscience patients, including those with strokes, seizures, and post-operative craniotomies. Essential duties will involve monitoring patients, administering medications as per physician orders, and ensuring compliance with established protocols. Familiarity with neurological conditions and related procedures is crucial for this role.

/n/nResponsibilities/n

- Provide direct patient care in a Neuro Stepdown and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit.
/n
- Monitor and assess patient health status and report changes to the healthcare team.
/n
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
/n
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
/n
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and self-care practices.
/n

/n/nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure/n

/n
- Current RN license.
/n
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
/n
- EPIC experience is required.
/n
- Strong neuro nursing experience is essential.
