Low-Voltage / Audio / Video / Network Technician Wanted for Audio, Video, CCTV, Alarm, Structured Wiring, Automation (Tampa Bay)

Fast growing audio/video, custom electronics integration and low-voltage systems company that specializes in residential & commercial : audio, video, CCTV, burglar alarm, structured wiring, lighting, shades and automation all over the Tampa Bay area – Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, etc.

Looking for a candidate with an IT background with A/V experience, or willing to learn the A/V field. Candidate will be responsible for finalizing the connection, configuration and testing of components in new installations, as well as providing ongoing customer service and support.

The ideal candidate would possess:

· In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks – i.e. router and switch configuration, LAN setup, static IPs, port-forwarding, MAC / DHCP reservation, with good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

· Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills

· Excellent communication ability

· Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

Also:

· Terminate, label and test low-voltage cable :

o Category cable : Cat5e, Cat6 with RJ45 & RJ11 type connectors as well as punch-down jacks and patch panels

o Coaxial cable : RG59 & RG6 with compression RCA, BNC & F type connectors

· Connect and configure audio visual components such as TVs, projectors, surround sound receivers, speakers, audio processors, etc.

· Connect and configure distributed audio and video systems

· Understanding of commercial 70V audio systems

· Connect and configure CCTV systems - analog and IP cameras / recorders

· Structured wiring patch panels & phone boards

· Alarm panel wiring & installation

· A/V and network rack wiring and build

· Automation programming highly desired (Total Control, Control4, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida state driver's license and have reliable transportation.

- Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and other co-workers is crucial.

- Be trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision.

- Must be able to arrive at work on time.

- Must be drug-free and able to pass all random drug tests, we are a Drug Free Workplace.

- Background check required.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Must be capable of lifting equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.

- Physical fitness and good dexterity for movement in attics & crawl spaces.
