Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a hospital Operating & Recovery Room position with strict licensing and call requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Operating & Recovery Room of an acute care hospital
- 10-hour day shifts from 07:00 to 17:30
- Call required: 1 shift per week and 1 weekend per month
- Cases include general surgery, endarterectomy, vascular procedures, ortho (totals, ORIF, arthroscopy), laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy (GI), some GYN, and ENT procedures
- PACU experience required as RN must assist with patient recovery during call-backs
- Bi-weekly orientation provided
- 36/48 hour weekly rotation (36 hours one week, 48 hours the next)
- No local candidates accepted; must reside at least 100 miles from facility
- Expected to provide RN relief for ENT procedures and handle call-back recovery room situations
- Not eligible for travel pairs unless specifically approved due to high unit needs
- All first-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Travelers must not have active employment within 100 miles of this facility
- Assignment duration is 13 weeks with required assignment confirmation within 24 hours of offer acceptance
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years OR RN experience
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS may be required per unit or specialty
- Previous travel RN experience preferred
- Copy of Driver’s License and two references required for consideration
