In conjunction with the patient, family and the patient's attending physician, he/she develops and manages the patient's plan of care. The IPU Coordinator ensures that care delivery is in accordance with Medicare Hospice Conditions of Participation and within the organization's budget and productivity guidelines. The IPU Coordinator acts as the clinical resource for staff members, and facilitates weekly interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss the patients' plans of care and ongoing eligibility for hospice services. The IPU Manager is responsible for clinical productivity, education and appropriate documentation by staff to meet the Medicare COPs for Hospice. The IPU Coordinator is responsible for staff hiring, orientation and productivity. The IPU Coordinator is responsible for staffing each unit and oversight for all compliance per Hospice regulations.
