Job Description:Job Summary:The Electrical Engineer - Vehicle Integration is responsible for the integration of BraunAbility electrical harnesses and components required to manufacture wheelchair accessible vehicle conversions. This includes working with wiring technicians with circuit identification and wiring routing in the OEM vehicle.This position may be filled at our Winamac, Indiana, or Carmel, Indiana, location.Key Responsibilities:•Assist in harness development for both NPD teams.•Utilize CAD to route harnesses & locate modules inside the vehicle.•Draw harness locations in 3D models using CAD, getting initial lengths, and documenting locations for E-BOMs•Help optimize wire bundles to reduce required channel size.•Validate vehicles during various build stages documenting any features not performing as intended.•Track electrical open issues and drive communication/closure to them.•Work with the vehicle program team to assure parts and assembly timing aligns with overall vehicle program.•Create and utilize electrical best practices and lessons learned during the new product development cycle.•Assist production line in troubleshooting during new product development launches.•Suggest low-cost design alternatives and common designs for standardization.•Ensure that parts and assembly timing are aligned with overall vehicle program.•Verify Product Feasibility for manufacturability, assembly, safety, and regulations.•Constantly Improve Designs & Processes to improve Quality & Cost.•Validate all products are engineered and designed as intended and meet manufacturing capabilities.•Verify Electrical System Feasibility for safety and regulations.•Apply Cost constraints as part of the engineering design process.•Confirm cost & investment of new designs meets targets.Minimum Qualifications:•Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology required.•A minimum of 6 years of direct electrical engineering work experience is required.
