Job Description

The Floor Tech performs general floor care and maintenance on all types of floor surfaces. Also required to demonstrate knowledge of floor restoration projects, and the ability to complete assigned projects independently. Must be able to walk and stand for at least 8 hours, and lift/move objects weighing up to 100 pounds

Essential Functions:

1. Refinishes floors to include stripping and waxing, utilizing industry standard best practices.

2. Burnishes floors to maintain gloss finish.

3. Masters 6 - step cleaning method, and demonstrates ability to clean rooms to departmental standards.

4. Displays ability to troubleshoot basic floor machine malfunctions.

5. Maintains amicable relationships with Clinical and Medical staff at all times.

Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.

Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.

Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience.

Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.

Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.

Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.

Maintains compliance with organization's policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards.

Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.

Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.

Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.

As a Studer Partner must have the ability to develop a full understanding of the Studer Group practices and tools and communicate effectively. Required Skills

  • Education High School degree or pending GED.
  • Specialized knowledge Knowledge of floor and cleaning chemicals, and expertise in running floor equipment.
  • Skills Superior floor condition analyzation skills. : Extensive experience and knowledge of multiple types of floor machines, burnishers, and wet vacs. Must be able to describe in detail the floor restoration process, equipment and chemicals needed, and show a basic comprehension of productivity metrics
  • Abilities Work independently, communicate effectively with staff, and produce industry standard results on a consistent basis.
  • Other characteristics such as personal characteristics Ability to be a self-motivated self- starter.

Required Experience
  • Experience Two years verifiable Floor Tech experience within the last five years.
