As the Lead Pharmacy Technician, you will provide advanced technical support in the preparation, distribution, and inventory control of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position serves as a working lead coordinating the daily activities of the pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, maintaining quality control standards, and supporting efficient pharmacy operations across all service areas. Location/Schedule: 175 Emery Highway, Macon, GA. Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary resource and technical lead for the pharmacy technician team. Oversee daily workflow, task assignments, and scheduling to ensure optimal staffing and timely service delivery. Prepare and package medications, compound non-sterile preparations, and label prescriptions in accordance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate medication inventory and perform routine audits to ensure proper storage, handling, and accountability. Monitor expiration dates and assist in the removal or return of outdated medications. Support ordering, receiving, and restocking of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Provide training, mentorship, and competency checks for new and existing pharmacy staff. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a pharmacy technician, with at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role preferred. Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health pharmacy environment strongly desired. Licensure/Certification: Current Georgia Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration required. Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through PTCB or ExCPT preferred. Knowledge and Competencies: Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations, drug nomenclature, dosage forms, and medication safety protocols. Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
