Position Summary

The Director of Human Resources serves as a business partner to provide strategic human resources leadership for Granville Health System. The Director will be responsible for leading the HR Department and overseeing all aspects of the HR function, including recruitment, compensation, performance management, benefits & leave administration, employee relations, etc. The Director will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the health system's strategic plan.

Essential duties & responsibilities
  • Oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave administration, disciplinary matters, disputes/investigations, performance and talent management, recognition programs, and training/development.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the health system's goals and strategies related to recruitment and retention.
  • Develops and implements HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and accreditation standards (i.e. The Joint Commission).
  • Identifies and implements recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent; collaborates with department leaders to understand departmental staffing needs and develops targeted recruitment plans.
  • Provides guidance and support for leave administration ensuring compliance with applicable laws including FMLA and ADA.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and accreditation standards; recommends best practices; stays up-to-date on changes and developments in HR legislation; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Leads efforts to foster a culture of employee engagement and satisfaction through the health system.
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to develop and implement strategic workforce planning initiatives including succession planning, mentorship program, and leadership development programs.
  • Develops and implements a total rewards strategy aimed at recognizing and rewarding employees; conducts benchmarking studies and market analysis to ensure that our compensation practices remain competitive and aligned with industry standards; ensures compliance with applicable laws including wage and hour regulations.
  • Oversees the administration of the employee benefits and wellness programs.
  • Leads initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a workplace culture that values and respects all employees.
  • Develops and delivers training programs to enhance employee development, such as diversity training, leadership development etc.
  • Manages the HR budget and resources effectively, ensuring that initiatives are aligned with the financial goals and objectives of the health system.
  • Facilitates professional development and training activities for the HR staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressive human resources experience, including 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels of the health system.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement HR initiatives that support the health system's goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferences
  • PHR/ SPHR certification
  • Experience in healthcare setting
