We are looking for a PRN pharmacist to join our team in Austin. This position will focus on delivering patient-centered clinical service, dispensing compounded medications, and ensuring safe, effective medication therapy. At NuCara, we prioritize one-on-one patient counseling and medication management with the goal of delivering the best pharmacy value without sacrificing the quality of care prized by our patients.

This position is ideal for a pharmacist looking for a practice setting where they are challenged to meet the specialized needs of individual patients. Candidates should be highly organized, highly motivated, be able to work in a team, and must be able to use available resources to provide appropriate patient care. The position requires a graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy with BS or higher in Pharmacy, as well as a current Texas Pharmacy License. Experience in compounding and retail is preferred, but all applicants will be considered.

The hours at the pharmacy are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM. The pharmacy is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and all major holidays.

Required Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with sterile compounding is preferred and a valid Texas state license as a registered pharmacist is required.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing pharmacy operations
  • Superb multi-tasking, communication, and organizational ability
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Verification of sterile admixture solutions and compounds in compliance with pharmacy SOPs, State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, and DEA regulations
  • Dispense all pharmaceutical and related supplies in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and standards
  • Verify all prescriptions for proper dosage and accuracy before dispensing to the patient
  • Cleaning and general maintenance of equipment and work areas
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the employee handbook
  • Formulation & regulatory review
  • Prescription verification, recommendations, chart review, patient counseling
  • Knowledge of all company & site SOPs
Experience:
  • Compounding Medications: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Sterile Pharmacy: 5 years (Preferred)
  • IV certified (Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certified (Preferred)
Education:
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Required)
License:
  • Registered Pharmacist (Required)


Part-time positions offer competitive compensation and 401k match. The pharmacy is closed on Sundays and all major holidays.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
