Base pay range $22.00/hr - $25.00/hr Direct message the job poster from Medix Allied & Revenue Cycle Recruitment Advisor at Medix Location: Post Oak Area Houston, TX Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM Work Model: Hybrid (34 days in office; onsite training for first 2 weeks) Pay Rate: $22$25 per hour Type: Contract-to-Hire Overview Medix is hiring on behalf of a leading third-party Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) company headquartered in the Post Oak area of Houston. This organization partners with major healthcare systems to provide end-to-end billing services and support value-based care initiatives. As a Billing Specialist, youll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely submission of medical claims to multiple health plans. Youll join a collaborative billing team within a well-established and growing RCM firm that offers a supportive culture, opportunities for professional development, and a modern office environment. Responsibilities Distribute and file paper and electronic claims to payers for prompt reimbursement. Report and document claim filing activity, including abnormal occurrences and trends. Print, assemble, and mail out claims with required documentation (attachments, primary EOBs, etc.). Maintain knowledge of contract guidelines related to packaging and bundled services for accurate third-party billing. Research and document patient encounter details related to bundled services. Identify and proactively resolve claim issues with internal and external partners. Obtain and maintain accurate physician and contract information. Correct invalid claims and ensure all submissions meet payer requirements. Utilize data systems such as SLEH Portal, TMH HIS, and Data Migration to access patient demographics and billing information. Perform data entry of CMS-1500 claim forms and reconcile daily charge entries for accuracy. Maintain organized filing systems for claim batches, EOBs, and related documentation. Adhere to HIPAA and company confidentiality policies. Provide cross-coverage for billing functions and participate in ongoing training. Attend regular staff meetings and continuing education sessions. Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned by leadership.
