A day in the life of this role: The Patient Service Representative ensures smooth patient flow and a positive experience for Outer Cape Health Services ("OCHS") patients by greeting, registering, corresponding, and answering general questions. Summary of duties: Greet, register and direct patients and visitors to assigned Health Center Make and answer telephone calls at assigned Health Center in a professional manner Maintain provider schedules, and schedule and reschedule patient appointments in accordance with the provider's schedule Correspond with patients utilizing form letters, open mail and distribute to appropriate individual (ensuring confidentiality of medical information) Scan medical record documents Conduct insurance eligibility and verification; update Providers; utilize insurance web site and search engines Ensure patient demographic and billing information is accurate Report monies taken daily and report to Billing Department Monitoring Patient Portal communication with patients Collect Co-pays and account balances Ability to work flexible hours, as required to meet the needs of the Health Center Work environment: Position requires every other Saturday. This is a five day a week position. No weekend differential.
