Join our outstanding team About the Job The Mine Supervisor supervises hourly employees in all production processes; plans and assigns work; ensures that safety policies and procedures are known and followed by all employees, implements policy and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. This position is involved in all aspects of front-line mine operations. + Monitors employee's performance, including safety compliance, absenteeism and tardiness, work practices/processes and adherence to plant and federal rules/procedures/regulations, work and process efficiency, job tasks and assignments, etc. + Manage special projects that require analysis of complex data as assigned by mine leadership. + Monitors and maintains product quality per customer and product specifications. + Monitors and maintains environmental compliance of all plant processes including visible emissions, DPM's, and water discharges. + Monitors and maintains reliable production in all plant processes and making suggestions for improvement. + Actively manages to reduce waste in equipment and work processes (time management). + Oversees and manages departmental performance measures and provides regular progress reports to all supervisors. Required Qualifications + Education: College degree is required. + Experience : 3 to 5 years supervisory experience in a mining operation is preferred. + Certifications : Must maintain First-Aid/CPR Certification. + Knowledge : Must be able to learn and understand all plant processes. + Skills : Supervision skills, including developing, mentoring, and when necessary, disciplining hourly employees. Must be able to use electronic and manual systems for organizing and tracking plant activities. + Abilities : Must possess a demonstrated ability to lead hourly employees and get results through others. Ability to think ahead and plan over a specific time span and prepare action plans to achieve results. Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, environmental, plant reliability, productivity, cost efficiency, waste reduction, and employee relations in a unionized environment. Ability to assemble and analyze data as well as manage multiple priorities. + Behaviors : Must be a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
