Position Overview We’re looking for an Automation Engineer with good soft skills and has experience with one or more of the following: systems analysis, requirements for project implementations, development, system administration, DevOps and

delivery/deployment

of complex computer/network systems.

Essential Job Functions Design, develop, and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline network operations. Experience deploying servers, network devices and building scripts/apps using own or open-source libraries Maintain an understanding of long-term company strategy and ensures that designs will enable FiberLight to meet the changing

industry/competitive

demands Collaborate with network engineers to identify processes and tasks that can be automated Identify key engagement and solution risks and define mitigation strategies Implement and recommend viable architectural approaches that support long term maintainability, extensibility, and inter-operability of enterprise applications Maintain and optimize existing network automation solutions Build and test code to validate functionality against requirement Document automation processes and provide detailed configuration and troubleshooting support. Experience in JavaScript, security and performance issues with browsers helpful Experience and Proficiency with one of the following: Javascript, Python, bash scripting, or Java Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers, vendors, peers and other employees Participate in project retrospectives and contribute to continuous improvement of the software development life cycle

Requirements Knowledge and experience working with RESTful APIs. Knowledge and experience working with JSON Experience in JavaScript, security and performance issues with browsers helpful Experience and Proficiency with one of these: Javascript, Python, bash scripting, or Java Knowledge of basic networking concepts Strong communication skills Real-world experience providing technical leadership on network implementation projects Knowledge and application of object-oriented design principles A good understanding of IT environments including networking, server technologies, databases, security and performance Agile methodology and technical lead experience would be advantageous Strong understanding of software development lifecycle Preferred: Experience working with Cisco, Juniper and Ciena Proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Server with some basic DBA skills

Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel and reach. Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English. Must have visual acuity. Must be able to lift 0-25 pounds.
