Ritter Center is currently recruiting a Pantry Coordinator for our Pantry. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Pantry and Operations Manager and is based in San Rafael, CA; the role operates out of our Main Campus.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Ritter Center is hiring a Pantry Coordinator for our Pantry.
**This role is based in SAN RAFAEL, MARIN COUNTY, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA**
The Pantry Coordinator is the first point of contact for clients and visitors to Ritter Center. The Coordinator creates and maintains a welcoming atmosphere while developing clear communications with clients, staff members, volunteers, donors, agency partners, and members of the community. Familiarity and comfort with the homeless and low-income population, plus excellent customer service, are essential in this role. The Coordinator possesses a strong knowledge of Ritter services, providing appropriate information to clients/donors/other stakeholders and facilitating the start of the clients’ intake process.
The Coordinator manages access to the food pantry and other donations while overseeing Pantry volunteers’ activities. This role verifies/updates client information in client databases, maintains various administrative logs to track food donations, client demographics, donations, and bus passes, addresses phone inquiries, and supports our various client events (e.g., Back-to-School, holiday food programs). Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills are needed. The Coordinator should be bilingual in English and Spanish and culturally competent to better serve clients with multiple behavioral health and other conditions.
This is a NON-EXEMPT position that reports to the Pantry & Operations Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet visitors and clients, answer phones, transfer calls, and provide information and referrals as needed in a welcoming manner,
Manage multiple tasks while supporting clients with complex and sometimes disruptive behaviors,
Coordinate client intake process and related communications,
Address phone inquiries and voicemail daily, update client logs for special programs, and provide administrative support as requested,
Verify and update client information and bus pass distribution in database
Manage volunteer inquiries and verify volunteer dates, maintain required volunteer documentation, and track volunteer donated hours,
Track weekly food donation inventory in the database,
Manage client laundry appointment scheduling; coordinate with Behavioral Health to avoid interfering with daily group sessions,
Oversee early morning delivery of food and food stocking on the two days per week this is scheduled,
Maintain an organized and clean Pantry and open office workspaces,
Professionally manage volunteers to ensure smooth service delivery by onboarding, training, mentoring, directing and assisting them,
Accept donations and provide donor receipts for in-kind donations as needed; direct donors to other donation recipients as relevant,
Provide English/Spanish translation services for clients as needed,
Under the direction of Pantry & Operations Manager, lead and manage assigned tasks
Under the direction of Development team staff, assist with on-campus client events implementation
Meet with supervisor, attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
Adhere to the goals, objectives, and personnel policies of Ritter Center
Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
Per OSHA requirements, employment at Ritter Center requires compliance with being able to produce a negative TB test prior to the start of employment and being?fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (unless applying for an exemption) per the August 5th State Public Order for Healthcare Facilities, providers, and employees.
Strong customer service skills
Familiarity with managing complex individuals, including those experiencing homelessness.
Experience with managing volunteers
Resourceful researcher and informational resource of individual community services and partner agencies and Ritter
Ability to multi-task and maintain accurate records and logs
Ability to work in a reception area with frequent interruptions while responding to a high volume of client and staff needs and requests
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent computer skills and highly accurate data entry
Cultural competency
Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish
